Elena Colonna

As the Research & Message Manager at PCI Media, Elena ensures that all materials written and produced are research and evidence-based. As a researcher, Elena has led formative research on adolescents’ sexual lives and on primary school teacher motivations to inspire Ouro Negro radio dramas.

She has also conducted a content analysis of radio drama stories and of live radio programs and impact research with radio producers and listeners.  As a research manager, she designs data collection and analysis plans and prepares presentations and papers, to share M&E results on the Ouro Negro initiative.

Elena received a Ph.D. in Sociology of Childhood, from the University of Minho in Portugal in 2012. She has extensive professional experience as a researcher on childhood, adolescence, education and gender issues and is an expert in training in social research ethics and methods and in children and adolescent rights.

In her spare time, she enjoys listening to romantic Italian music.
