Having grown up across three continents, Vanessa has learned to adapt to different cultures and places while solidifying her commitment to social justice and human rights, as well as her appreciation of the arts, media, and storytelling as catalysts for social change. Through a participatory approach, Vanessa has helped to uplift the voices of historically oppressed populations around the world. By crafting opportunities for dialogue across creative mediums including music videos, radio dramas, animations, comics, photography, and community events, her work has helped to generate alternative narratives that confront harmful social norms and biases and address complex socio-ecological dynamics. Vanessa has an MA in Human Rights from the University of Sussex and a BA in Anthropology and Humanities from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Vanessa now lives in Schroon Lake, in the Adirondack Mountains. Beginning her career at PCI over 10 years ago, Vanessa is thrilled to rejoin the team as Program Manager.
